Artistic Flair: Typo-Poetry Captivates at IUS Art Gallery

On Tuesday, January 14, the Art Gallery of the International University of Sarajevo was abuzz with creativity and collaboration during the event Artistic Flair: Typo-Poetry. This remarkable occasion brought together two vibrant study programs from the IUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences: the English Language and Literature (ELIT) program and the Visual Arts and Visual Communications Design (VACD) program.

The event was a celebration of interdisciplinary synergy, featuring a joint exhibition and a captivating poetry reading session. Students from the Creative Writing course showcased their talent by composing a diverse array of poems, including narrative poems, odes, and haikus, which were beautifully brought to life through the typographic illustrations of VACD students.

The program offered a dynamic experience, beginning with an exhibition of the creative works and followed by live poetry readings and musical performances. The opening remarks were delivered by Assistant Prof. Dr. Nadira Puškar Mustafić (ELIT) and Assistant Prof. Dr. Nejira Mulahmetović (VACD), who emphasized the importance of fostering creative collaboration and interdisciplinary approaches in education.

The poetry sessions were eloquently presented by ELIT students Bakir Abaspahić and Maida Avdić. Their readings were enriched by the soulful guitar performances of Sara Mezit and Leja Vatrić, while the twin sisters Emina and Lemia Šehić captivated the audience with their harmonious vocal performances.

The event not only highlighted the immense creative talents of IUS students but also demonstrated the university's commitment to nurturing a collaborative and inspiring academic environment. Artistic Flair: Typo-Poetry was a resounding success and a testament to the power of combining literature, visual arts, and music to create an unforgettable cultural experience.
